Hi
I would certainly get this checked out as soon as poss, I think I would get myself up to local A & E dept just to make sure everything is ok, you can never be too careful.

I agree too- at least you will feel better knowing what might be causing it. Worry will only make it worse. YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

May be to do with the warm weather as well as RA. You cannot be too careful as the others
state call in to local Hospital

I hope you have been up to the hosp by now and been checked over.
You can get rib pain and (rarely) lung involvement with RA but there is more likely something else going on so best get checked out.

I suffer from mild asthma and hayfever but I've noticed I've been getting quite breathless the last few months. I spoke to my rheummy about it recently and he said it can be linked to RA but as it was helped by my inhalers and it wasn't getting progressively worse it was likely to be the asthma rather than RA/ side effects of medication.
It also gets worse when I'm stressed!
I agree with the others- you need to get it checked out. That's how I was dianosed with asthma in the first place: chest pains and breathlessness.

I recently developed an intermittant cough. It doesn't particularly bother me but my GP has referred me to the chest clinic. He also wrote to my consultant and she stopped my mtx until the cough is checked out. So I agree with the other -see your doctor soon.

glad to be back with you all internet been playing up but now it is ok.
i agree you should go and get checked with the Doctor as he /she is the best person to know but i do have breathless times and whezzing but i did as i am telling you went to the Drs and she said it was asthma but she did say RA could give you a few problems with this, my dad had RA and he did have breathing problem that was only the RA, but the best place is Drs.

My daughter (the 22 year old with RA) has lots of lung problems which started a bit after she was diagnosed with RA; but we are still waiting to get to the bottom of it. She's had endless antibiotics; but all the time has been told not to stop the MTX.
She has a local Respiratory clinic appt on Monday - and also has one for King's College Hospital in London in November - which is where she is now living. We decided it is too serious not to go to the local one, so she's coming down for the day... not much good if they want to do tests... but they might give her something in the meantime!!!
She had a lung function test from the Nuffield in Oxford (which is where she was last academic year - and where her RA consultant is) - but could never seem to get hold of the result!!! Probably due to coming back home near Portsmouth soon after the test; and now moving to London. Different GPs kept treating her with antibiotics and Steroids; until the latest local one, decided it was time to get referred! Sadly the last hospital appt we had to cancel 2 weeks ago; as she wouldn't miss her first week back at uni!!!
I would suggest you ask to get referred and see what they think. I am hoping we might get some answers soon.

I have had breathlessness, wheeziness and chest pains since having pleurisy last April. All the x-rays and lung function tests are normal, now waiting to see a chest specialist in November. I have been told the R.A could be causing the pleurisy symptoms, apparently they are linked but hope you get yourself checked out and a diagnosis soon.
